If you've found your way to RVS Duds you probably already know that we're a family clothing brand born from the floor of a working HGV garage in the Shropshire Hills. What you might not know is that this family extends considerably beyond the humans.

We have dogs. Several of them. Each one a character. Each one entirely convinced they are the most important member of the operation. They are not entirely wrong.

We call them the Dud Dogs. And over time you're going to get to know all of them. But every story has to start somewhere and this one starts at the reception desk.

Moose. Chief of Security. RVS.

His name is Moose. His job title is Chief of Security. His actual contribution to security is largely theoretical.

Moose is a Rottweiler. He looks the part. Broad, black, tan markings, the kind of face that makes delivery drivers reconsider their life choices from the other side of the door. What those delivery drivers don't know — what takes a little time to discover — is that behind that magnificent intimidating exterior lives a dog who is, in the kindest possible terms, easily startled.

A carrier bag. A unexpected noise. His own reflection on a slow Tuesday. All perfectly capable of sending Moose into a brief but dramatic personal crisis before he remembers he is supposed to be in charge of security and pulls himself together with as much dignity as he can manage.

We don't mention it. He appreciates that.

Moose's mum is Meg — Curtis our eldest son's partner and very much one of our own. Meg is Moose's person, his safe place, his absolute north star. Curtis is his spare human. Curtis is fine with this. He knew what he was signing up for.

What Moose lacks in actual intimidation he more than makes up for in presence. The paws go up on the reception counter. The tongue comes out. The deep brown eyes survey the room with an authority that has no business being this convincing given what we know about him. Customers love him instantly. He accepts this as his due.

He was at RVS before RVS Duds existed — already part of the furniture, already posing amongst the skulls and the Jack Daniel's bottles and the branded rug like he'd always been there. And honestly? He had. The aesthetic needed him and he knew it before we did.

Moose is the first of the Dud Dogs to get his own t-shirt. He received this news with the quiet dignity of someone who always knew it was coming. 🐾Dud Dogs! | RVS Duds

Next time — Harley. Deb's 50th birthday gift. Home bred, fought for, and now so woven into the fabric of this family that nobody can remember what life looked like before 75kg of Leonberger took up permanent residence on the sofa. And there are others. On a Shropshire smallholding this size, there are always others. 👀🐾
